The Tesla Powerwall stores 13.5 kWh of energy — enough to power essential circuits for 12-24 hours during an outage. It can also save money by charging during off-peak hours and discharging during peak rates. We install the Powerwall with its Backup Gateway, which acts as a transfer switch to isolate your home from the grid during outages. For solar homes, the Powerwall stores excess solar production for evening use.

A Tesla Powerwall 3 installed typically runs $13,000–$18,000 including the unit, backup gateway, electrical work, and permits. It stores 13.5 kWh — enough to run essential circuits for 12–24 hours. Additional units can be stacked for larger homes or longer outages.
Can a home battery save money on time-of-use rates?
Yes. With Ontario's ultra-low overnight rates, a battery can charge at roughly 3¢/kWh overnight and power your home during peak windows costing 5x more. Combined with outage protection, that arbitrage meaningfully improves the payback versus a generator.
Does a Powerwall work with solar panels?
Yes — it's designed for it. Excess midday solar production charges the battery for evening use, and during outages the Powerwall lets your solar keep producing (grid-tied systems without batteries must shut down). We install both solar-ready wiring and the battery system.
